VEGAS WEEKEND IDEAS

I was watching the Travel Channel yesterday and the show I was watching had this annoying girl that was visiting Vegas. She was talking about the fun things to do there. She mentioned the Medieval Times at the Excaliber, she talked about the roller coster on top of New York,New York. It was about this time I realized that I would rather go to Vegas for root canal than to do the things she was talking about. Dont even get me started on the food this 85lb woman was recommending.

If you are going to be visiting Vegas this year, print this entry off let The Fat Jack guide you thru Sin City.

SUGGESTION 1- Dont be afraid to spend a bit more on your room. Studies show that you will spend over 70% of your time using the stuff at your hotel. If you stay at a dump, you will spend more on cab fare than you would have paid to stay in a better place.

Try and stay at on of these places.

Venetian-All suite hotel. By far best rooms in town
Red Rock- Off strip( about 15 min) but great property, good customer service and good spa.
Wynns- Get players card, they will offer even the lower player free rooms in the summer often with free upgrade to suites.
Caesars- Best Spa in town. (I have been to them all) and theirs is the best. You dont have to stay there to go to the spa so no matter where you stay, send your wife there. You will thank me later.

Eat at these places.

Let me  first tell you that they dont call me The Fat JAck for nothing. I like to eat and pride myself on finding the best places. If you have any sense, you will try these places as I have eaten EVERYWHERE in towh and these are some solid selections.

THIS IS GOING TO SOUND WEIRD BUT BY FAR THE BEST KEPT SECRET AND THE BEST SUNDAY BRUNCH IN VEGAS IS AT BALLYS.  They dont advertise it and if you are a Diamond member you get priority seating and dont need reservations. It is in the steak house and  only on Sundays but if you get a chance it is a MUST.

Breakfast-
1. I am not a huge breakfast guy in Vegas but the Belliago buffet has a good selection and if you go around 10am you get both breakfast and lunch items for the breakfast price. The buffet has gone down hill there over the last 2 or 3 years but is still a solid selection.
2. there is a free standing place by where the Stardust use to be. I dont remember the name but just tell the cab you want to go to the good breakfast place by where the Stardust use to be.
3. the Venitians Cafe is owned and run by The Cheesecake Factory. Their breakfast service is normally bad but the food is solid. good pancakes. DONT EAT THE BREAKFAST BUFFET THERE, IT IS ASS.

Lunch-
1. Few people realize that Joes Stone Crab has a place in Caesars Forum Shops. If you go during the season( Sept thru April) it is a great way to get the same Joes food you would wait in line for on South Beach.  Pass on the Stone Crabs and get the Alaskan King Crabs. They are the size of your arm and taste great. Also, the lobster salad and the berries and cream for desert.
2. read suggestion number 1 and go to Joes.
3. If you dont like seafood try Noodles in the Belliago. They are open until 4am and have very good Chinese.

Dinner-
1. BOA in Caesars- This is a chain form Santa Monica but has great steaks and sides.
2. 9 in the Palms. Great Lobster Mashed and shores for desert. This is also a great place to go to see the stars. Lots of famous people staying at the Palms and eating at 9.
3.In N Out Burger0there is one right of of Tropicana. this is a California burger joint that offers about 6 items and all are good. If you go broke, this is a great place because you can get full for under 5.00.

Most important- No matter what your gambling plans are in Vegas. CALL AND GET MY PICKS FOR THE WEEKEND!!  This will cost you less than the price of most of these meals and if you place 50.00 on my selections you will make money and help offset the price of your trip and your bad blackjack play. Mention this blog and I will guarantee you will make money with my weekend selections or I will give you your money back. That beats the guessing you were planning on doing.

I hope you all have a great week. We are getting closer to the season as the NFL teams are reporting and preseason is around the corner. My show starts the week of 8-23. I AM READY TO GO!
