SEPTEMBER WITH THE PICKS AND LITTLE LEAGUE FOOTBALL

Well, we are 1 month into the season and looking back on the month, I am amazed at how I feel. We turned a profit over the month. We didn't have any losing weeks and only 1 push week. To most playing the games, that is a GREAT month! Everyone signing up today, would love to be into profit and heading into October. We didn't lose on Mondays and are winning on a consistent basis. I cant help to think what might have been in September with just a couple more winning days. Sundays have been pretty brutal. We will win on Sundays over the season but we didn't have a very good month on Sundays. The good news is, we were up a lot of games heading into each Sunday so a bad Sunday did little more than give back a little profit we had made each week. With a few good Sundays, we are poised for a really nice run and build on the profit we have already made this season.

Little league football has started and we are a couple of games into the season. I have to tell you although I have really enjoyed my team and teaching them about football and more, it hasn't been a lot of fun so far.  I had always heard about little league parents being the problem, not the kids and I am feeling a little bit of that. Before the season, I prayed a lot about conducting myself in a way that wouldn't create any enemies. My goal was simply to get thru the season and give a good experience to the kids and try and get a long with everyone involved with the league. That has been easier said than done.  For some reason, I have become enemy # 1 to a small group of parents. I am sure this is because of a lot of things. I have written a couple of biog entries that were unpopular, and I suppose that the fact I give advice on sporting events has automatically made me a bad guy in some peoples eyes. The amazing part of the entire thing is the very people that are causing the most issues this year are the very people that are filling the Churches that preach tolerance, acceptance, compassion etc. These people are spending at least part of 6 days a week creating issues out of nothing and then 1 day a week praying about what a good person they are and are trying to be. I WILL NOT mention , at this time, any names or specific situations that have been brought to my attention over the last few weeks. I wont talk about the flat out made up stuff that have been said about me and my character from people that do not know me and refuse to listen to the people that DO know me and what type of person I am. I wont mention the many examples of things I or my family has done to try and change the opinions of a few people that again do not know me or anything about me. I wont mention any specific examples of ways some of these people have tried to stir up things that have no merit or any truth. FOR NOW. I will continue to try and take the high road. I will continue to do everything I can to give my kids as good an experience as possible. I will continue to pray for patience and compassion for people that have obviously forgotten why there are little league sports to begin with and who's ignorance about me and what the Fat Jack service actually is has made them into hypocrites that on the surface appear to be kind caring people and spend a part of their week spreading lies about not only myself but others that have done nothing to warrant that behavior. YET.    Like any person, I will only pray for patience for so long. There may be a time, if I am continued to be provoked , will be forced, as a service to others that know these people to discuss specifics , to expose the "other side" of these people. I know it is not the right thing to do and REALLY don't want to cause issues for people but at some point, when you continue to kick a dog , he will eventually BITE. Keep it up and I will BITE.

By the way, none of these people play the games against the spread and I have no idea why they would even read my blog but trust me, they will.

If your playing the games against the spread, get signed up today and start winning. If you are a

After a small profit in week 1, excited about labor day week and the start of 6th grade football!!! Hold on to your hats....

I am sitting on a plane headed to Vegas for 48 hours. I am going to sign up for a few handicapping contests and meet with my runner. Not a lot of fun and quick but that's ok, I am really addicted to my family right now. I think I have trained myself to enjoy working and being with my wife and kids each fall. Not as much travel. The problem with that is , when I have to go somewhere I really miss my people. I was really excited for the football season to get underway and the first week has done nothing to temper my excitment. After an easy win on Thursday, we had an opinion winner on Friday. We pushed Saturday but then another winning opinion on Sunday. Fact is , if I had released 14 picks this weekend I would have gone 10-4 at the worst. It is always a good idea to ease into the season to make sure you are on the right page and a small winning week is better than a big losing one anyday but it is nice to know I am dialed in and ready for a great season. If you are one of those guys that are playing on their own, stop! It is to affordable for you to not sign up and win this week. My 6th grade football team has been practicing for a couple of weeks and have a round robin scrimmage next Sunday. Normally I have a good idea about how good my team is. As a matter of fact , if you are a follower of my blog, I always give odds on the teams in our league to win the Norman optimist super bowl. 2 years ago I rated us as co second choices to win and we lost in the semis, last year I picked us 4th and we lost in the semis. This season we are much better than both of those years but it is a little hard to tell if that is because we are better or just 6th graders and not 4th graders. We should be better, right ? We will know a lot more after next Sunday and I will let you know our chances then. Having gone through another year of fittings and getting the teams together I was reminded of how many of you read this blog specifically waiting for me to say something to offend you. You aren't going to sign up for my service, in fact, you don't even gamble but when it comes to this time of year, by god , you are going to keep up with my blog waiting for me to say something bad about soccer or and say something not so flattering about someone you know. Lol. Question is , what are you going to do next year without me to monitor? I won't have a football team. My son will play for his school. I might not write as many things about our team and therefore, not say something you can run and tell all of your friends about! What will you talk about at your charity meetings and your drunko I mean bunco events with your friends. Well, maybe if your lucky I will start coaching my daughters soccer team. That would be a whole new group of parents for me to offend. And if your lucky enough to have a younger child , just maybe I will say something that gives you something to talk about with your friends. Stay tuned we have an entire season for some parting shots!!! Xxooxoxo. If you are one of those people that is betting on football games, sign up today. Unfortunately for some, I am going to have a huge season !!!!!!!!!

FOOTBALL SEASON IS UNDERWAY AND WE ARE 100% ON THE SEASON!!! and random thoughts ...

Well, it is Friday and I am right in the middle of about 20 radio interviews. Fridays during football season are always fun. All of the radio hosts and fans are excited about the games upcoming this weekend and my clients and I are excited about the success that is most likely coming over the next few days. Last night we started the season like we start most seasons, we got ourselves into profit. I always love going on the radio after a strong start because it is the only time all year I get to yell, " WE ARE 100% ON THE YEAR!! " and unlike other services, I am telling the truth. If you didn't start this season getting yourself into profit, YOU NEED TO SIGN UP NOW! Yesterdays games were not difficult. If it hadn't been the first night of the season, we would have easily been 4-0. The free winners on my show were easy winners and everyone that is part of our service is winning. You never want to go crazy the first week of the season BUT yesterdays results bode well for the future for my clients and I. I love Labor Day weekend but I am not sure why my kids are off from school. I love it when they are home but I would prefer to use this day later in the year when we could go on vacation and they were a little sicker of school. Right now, they are just getting in the grove. I am coaching my sons 6th grade football team. This is my last season as a little league football coach. Next season the boys will play for the school and although they ask for a few parents to help , I don't think I will be doing that. It has been a great time over the last few seasons but it will be nice to not wake up thinking about a play that might work or who might work better at free safety on a 6th grade team! I really have enjoyed getting to know some of these kids and it has been a nice compliment to the football I spend most of my fall analyzing. For those of you that are heading to Vegas, I will post my predicted win totals for some teams so you might check the free winners page on the website. If you are planning on betting on the games this season, I am telling you, NOW is the time! We are going to have a big season !  This week looks great and nothing makes a tailgate party more fun then to be 4-0 as you are eating your first burger! Remember, there are amateur  drunks everywhere this weekend so be careful. Happy Labor Day weekend, have a safe weekend and good luck!!

Commin back from cali and a guide to a winning season

I am on a flight back from Los Angeles. I was out there meeting with my wifes producers and also doing a little business of my own. It is amazing how many long term clients I have in California. I don't advertise out there but some of my highest players live in California. I guess it makes sence that the higher players would do more homework before picking someone to advise them on sports selections. That's not to say that a 50.00 per game players money means less to him than the 10k per game player. In fact I thing it is the opposite. The 50.00 player is probably risking a larger percentage of his net worth than the 10k guy so you would think he would do more research on finding the best but it is amazing how many of the 10k per game and up live in la. The good news for my clients is that it doesn't matter to me rather you bet 50 or 50k / game , you are getting the same selections. I give the games I know have the best chance to win to all of my clients. Sounds simple but it is amazing how many services seem to figure out a way to spread out their picks to their clients depending on their wager amount. What does that mean? Are they saying that the 50.00 picks are worst than the higher ones? Why not give all of the top selection winners to all of the paying clients? I would think if they actually could win money betting on games , that would be the most sound business model. Give the winners to all their clients. Could it be that these other services know that they are not good enough to pick consistent winners so they spread out their selections in hopes that some set of games will show a profit? And if they did know they couldn't predict winners wouldn't it behoove them to get as much money as possible out of each client? And wouldn't the easiest way to do that is to start each conversation with "....so how much do you bet per game?". I think I might be on to something? Here are a couple of simple rules when picking a service. 1. If they want to give you a free winner in hopes that you will then sign up for some random amount of money for future picks. It is a scam. 2. If they are soooo good at picking winners or have a true "can't lose lock " then why are the having to call you!?!!?? Wouldn't they have enough clients that they wouldn't need to cold call you? 3. There is no lock of the century!! Unless they are biff from back to the future and have a book that already knows the outcome of the games then there is not a 100 percent lock. No matter what, they can't predict turnovers and in game injuries. So they don't know 100 percent. 4. Use common sense. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. If something sounds fishy don't give them your money. Then 5. Make the same choice that 1000s of guys from around the country do and sign up with me. Ask me the tough questions. Use common sense and get the sames top selections rather you play 50.00 or 10k. They are the best picks there are and they are going to give you a realistic , great chance to make money this season. We are less than 3 weeks away from the season and all monthly and season packages include preseason nfl and baseball for free so don't delay. The monthly packages all run thru 9-30-10 rather you sign up today or wait til 9-1. Its the same price. Have a good week!!

Betting on the nfl preseason is kind of like playing roulette

Well, the football season is inching closer and the kids are getting ready to go back to school. The nfl preseason is under way and will continue for the next couple of weeks. As most of you know I have always said that " the first sign you may have a gambling problem is if you are betting on the preseason. " now, I break down these games because they are a great learning tool for later in the season. For instance, I learned Sunday night that there is only one player named Palmer on Cincinnatis team worth putting your money on. I send out these preseason selections to anyone that signs up early for my service for free. Despite what some fly by night services may say, there is no value in the preseason so I don't charge for it. Now over the last couple of seasons these free picks have created some problems for my views on these games. Over the last 2 seasons a 100.00 player on these preseason games is up over 3500.00! Exactly. Now I didn't all the sudden find the wholly grail of preseason games it has been a combination of good picks and a lot of good luck. For my clients, they don't care how you win, just that you win. Betting on the preseason is a lot like betting on roulette. When you are winning there is not a more fun game in the casinio. You take your 5.00 and put it on #8 because it was your basketball number in the 8th grade and it hits! You somehow convince yourself that you had a hand in the win and you knew 8 was coming. All that profit! You are the best roulette player in the world. Then you play for 3 more hours and lose 200.00 of your own money. You walk away saying " why in the hell would I give my money away on something so stupid. How in the world can you predict what # is coming up!". Same game but totally different feelings and the fact is, win or lose, a lot of luck was involved. Preseason can be great when you are winning but make no mistake, when we bet on the regular season games , there is very little luck needed to make money over the entire season. Yes you will get lucky some and unlucky some but over the long run we are going to win a lot more than we lose. The preseason however , with the starters not playing much and some teams caring a lot more than others about the outcome , well you might want to look for a roulette wheel before you plop down a lot of money. Enjoy the preseason, take it for what it is and understand that there is a lot of profit waiting for us just a few weeks away.

Its not for everyone...

As we head into August and football season is nearing, my thoughts / life becomes consumed with the season. Educating myself on trades, drafts etc take up some of every day. I also start working on the television/radio shows I do each week and really get my mind focused on making my clients and I money over the next 9 months. I always find it funny when I talk to a critic of services or read a message board on one of the many gambling websites out there. They almost always read the same way ... Some guy asks " hey, anyone out there ever used the fat jack?" what's his deal? Then the posts come rolling in ... " I had a friend that signed up with him and .......". Or " all services are crooks! They are for losers .... ". Or my favorite.. " why would anyone pay for picks? They can't do it on their own...". Honestly, some of you guys that take the time to post on some of these websites amaze me! You do nothing more that show your ignorance. Do you really think the 1000s of clients that come back year after year are wrong? Are you so naïve that you didn't realize some people are wanting to actually make money betting on games? Do you think your little 10.00 office pool or free u pick em site is the only thing people are doing? Guys, get a clue! Let me introduce you to another group of gamblers.. My clients. They have a job. They have a life. They make more than minimum wage. They have kissed a girl, they like betting real money on real sports and are trying to show a profit. They don't have " second life accounts" or blow up dolls to spend their weekends with and most importantly, they don't spend their free time responding to questions on websites that they know nothing about!! Although it is true, most sports services are crooked and prey on the desperate. The reasons to sign up for a honest talented football analysts is actually simple and something that 1000s of guys already know. Look at it this way, if you get thrown in jail and charged with murder you have some options. You can find the cheapest guy out there to represent you. You can defend yourself or you can pay a little more money and get the best attorney you can find. Someone that spends his days working on how to win your case. Someone that has a proven track record of winning and (to relate it to me) is willing to go to jail himself if he doesn't get you aquitted. I play my selections myself so when you win , I win and when you lose I lose. Now I am sure a lot of people out there will say " well jack, I can't afford the best. I don't have 50.00 per game to risk betting on sports. " my answer to them is simple.. Don't sign up!! Don't bet on sports. Don't win!! Its a little like driving a Ferrari " if you have to ask how much then you probably can't or shouldn't afford it. Now don't take that the wrong way. If you are betting more that 50.00 per game, the fact is you can't afford not to sign up with me. My actual cost breaks down to around 6.00 per selection for football and less for hoops. After you sign up I will prove to you my value. I will help make you more money that you thought possible betting on games and I am confident you will join the over 75 percent of my clients each season and choose to sign back up next year. But for those of you that either don't bet on games or are in to "fantasy" , a word of advice... Most services will promise you the moon and deliver nothing more than losses. Most things that sound too good to be true probably are and be very careful when looking for help winning. And for those of you that take your time to respond to questions about my service and my clients. Ask yourself what you really know about me and my success. How long have you been a part of my service? Do you even know one of the 1000s of clients that come back year after year because they know I will help them make real money. If your answer includes info from " a friend" or " you heard" or are about some 25.00 per pick game of the decade service , then I suggest you stay in the kiddie pool and leave the real winning to us. I think Adrian Peterson might be a good fantasy pick in a couple of weeks.

Gamblers, its almost time!!

Today is July 21. S e c media day, less than 3 days til the nfl teams start reporting and less than 3 weeks til the first preseason game!!! We are getting close. This is also the time that sports bettors everywhere start to itch. They begin to feel that nervous feeling in the bellys that, to them is the first sign that something exciting is around the corner. Its a chance for new beginnings. For most of them the losses of last years season is far in the rear view mirror. The big question that all of these guys that are not my clients need to ask themselves is "what is actually going to make this season different?". This is not a popular question for most bettors. Thinking about that isn't any fun. The reality is , 9 out of 10 guys that bet on the games are going to lose. Yes, 9 of 10. The question you have to ask yourself is "what am I going to do to not be one of those 9?" if your anwser is to just use your vast knowledge of sports and your great guessing ability then you might want to start looking at how much money you have budgeted to give to your man this fall because as the season goes along , that will be your most important piece of information. Guys, here are the hard facts, there are less than 10 guys in the country that sell there selections that will help you make money. Less than 10. So basically if you are planning on playing on your own or with any of the so called "experts" out there, there is a 90 percent chance you are going to lose this season. Ouch, sorry to be the bearer of bad news and in July no less. I am telling you this so you can wrap your brain around winning this season. Not the blind euphoria you normally have but a real plan to actually make money betting on games. All of my clients at one point in their lives had to ask themselves that hard question " how am I going to give myself a realistic chance of making money.". Then those guys decided that investing in a winning season with me was a good answer to that question. I retain over 70 percent of my clients. I retain them each year because they see the value in my selections. They understand that when it comes to picking winners against the spread, I am the best, I am a winner and I have an edge. I want to help you make money this season. This is the time of year you can truly make a difference in your season. Waiting will only create a financial hole you will have to deal with later in the season. This year, make a smart choice. Make an early choice. Do what 1000s of guys from around the country have done and sign up to get my winners! Don't be one of those prideful guys that allow there ego to override their brain and would rather play on their own and lose than to invest a little money in a guy that year in and year out is in the less than 10 percent that turns a profit each season. I have doctors, lawyers, engineers, pro athletes, trainers for sports teams, actors mechanics, painters construction workers, teachers etc as clients. I have guys that play 50.00 per game and I have guys that plays 25,000.00 per game and everywhere in between. These players all know the best secret in the business, that signing up with me for less than 10.00 per selection!! Will make you money. This season do something smart, sign up with me and see what a difference it will make. Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you today.

Football is getting closer and I'm waiting in line

Sometimes I look up ,while doing something and ask myself , why? I am in savannah Georgia while my wife is taping some cooking shows. I decided to bring the kids and do the tourist thing in savannah. We have done a lot of fun stuff including tybee island, paulas restaurant, we went to Hilton head yesterday and rode bikes so all in all a pretty good week. Today as the kids were checking the things off their list that they wanted to do while in Georgia there were 2 things left. First, the kids want to ride on a horse drawn carrige. That was cayties idea and I think has more to do with her not wanting to walk than the fact it is on a horse. Either way we are going to do that later today. The other thing on the list is to eat lunch at a place called ms wilkes. Sounds harmless enough. In a city that is known for Paula dean , how hard could it be to get in to ms wilkes? Really hard! We were told it didn't open til 11am and is only open for lunch so we left the hotel at 10:30. As we get close to the restaurant I see a line stretched for about 3 blocks. I am thinking their must be a free money give a way or maybe it is a soup kitchen. Surely that can't be for our restaurant? Well it was. Now the smart thing would have been to keep driving but the only child in me came out and I had to know what the fuss is about. We headed to the end of the line and it was amazing. At least 200 people all lined up in 95 degree heat waiting for lunch! Problem is, we parked. We walked to the end of the line and the words " quiting now is for quiters" started going through my head. So after a minute of thinking , we got into line. Currently we have been in line for 30 minutes and are about half way through the line. All I can think about is some fat old lady sitting in the restaurant picking her teeth and talking about rather to have coffee or desert. I want to go in and tell her to get the hell up already!! Does she not know there are 300 people out here waiting on her table! I think the heat is getting to me. Football is less than 2 months away. I am starting to get excited. Get signed up early to save the most on the month and season packages and to receive free baseball selections. We are heading home today for a few days. Have a great weekend.

Wsop update

Still here in Vegas. Got in Saturday at 3pm and quickly checked in and headed to the Rio for the 2500.00 mixed event. This is a wsop event where the players rotate games every 8 hands. The games (for you poker players) are nlh, limit holdem, 7 card stud , 7 stud 8/ob , Omaha 8/ob , plo , razz and 2-7. Yes all of those. We all started with 7500 in chips. After day 1 I had 28k and was well above the chip average on 14k. We started with almost 500 players but only 130 made it to yesterday. After playing til 3am on Saturday, we started at 4pm on Sunday. I didn't get much sleep but was ready to go. About 2am last night I got knocked out 30th and made 6600.00. A lot of work for only 6k!!! I am currently in the spa getting ready to spend part of my winnings to get the knots out of my back from sitting for 24 hours but otherwise am in good spirits. I can't really complain about 30th but it would really be nice to win one of these events. In time I guess. Have a great week and I will give a final wsop update on my plane to savannah Georgia tomorrow. Quote of the trip so far - I got on the elevator today and this really hot girl got on with her luggage and a noticable limp. I asked what happened and she replyed " I woke up this morning and my foot was broke. ". You gotta love Vegas.

Wsop then savannah

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. After 48 hours at home, I am off again. There are certain times of the year that I search for something fun to do but summer is not that time. I am busy. Just landed in Vegas for the wsop. I will be playing in the 2500.00 mixed event tonight and then maybe another event Monday. This is always one of my favorite trips of the year. Most of the time it is profitable and always entertaining. Poker players are a different breed and getting them all together for one event always sparks some funny situations. I will be here until Wednesday when I will fly to Georgia to attend the final awards dinner in the real women of Philadelphia talent search. My wife is one of the four finalist and may win a talent contract with Paula dean and Kraft foods. Either way, I need to be there so the poker will end Tuesday for me. Btw, I found out that the fat jack sports hour ( my radio show ) is going to be on fox in the fall. Saturday mornings at 11:30 am. A great time for those that are sick of watching the games with their losing picks and are ready to get signed up for our winning selections. I am excited about football season but am going to have some fun before we get back to full time work in August. Have a great weekend and I will have a poker update on Wednesday. Ps. I sat next to a total b#*+h on the plane to Vegas. Just sayin.

My Bahamas trip? Pretty sure I ate dog!

After a about 10 days of work / play in Florida my family and I decided to go to the Bahamas to meet some friends. I have talked in the past about my feelings on the Bahamas , both pros and cons. To recap, I love the fact the Bahamas are made up of mostly religious people just trying to do a good job in their lives. I love how beautiflu the islands and the water is. I love conch. My kids love the Atlantis and all it has to offer an 11 and 7 year old. I don't love the lack of costumer service. I hate the fact that it takes 45 min to get a bellman. I hate the greedy nature of a lot of the thinking at some of the businesses. The price of most things ( bottle water 6.00 ) and their lack of plain business experience when making some of their rules. For example, we tried to go to this Italian resturaunt. I didn't want to go but some others did. We get there and the main courses are 50.00 to 65.00 a piece and I don't see any Italians around , just bahamanians. When we ask for our table to this ridiculously overpriced place they said they don't allow kids under 8 to eat in the place after 6pm!! I have a 7 year old and we had a 9 month old in our 12 person party. Now I know how that lady that had to sit on the back of the bus in Alabama felt! After a second of them discussing how they were possibly going to allow our 12 people filled with drinkers and heavy eaters to come in the place with our kids, I went up and announced, I would not be eating there if the kids weren't welcomed and we took our 1500.00 tab and went elsewhere. Good idea, right? I m not so sure. We ended up at a brazillian place for dinner. I love brazillian food. I love the all you can eat meat and always leave happy. Well I have never had brazillian in the Bahamas. Again, we walk in and no brazillians, only bahamians. Not a good sign. The salas bar was terrible and I am pretty sure a couple of the meats they served us were dog or monkey. Not steak as they claimed. I have eaten a lot of steak and something in the flavor said inappropriate to my taste buds. Oh well, we are coming back today which is always the best part of going to the Bahamas.

Ok, its official.. I hate the world cup.

I hope everyone is having a great summer. I am in the Bahamas airport heading home for a couple of days before I go to the wsop in Vegas and resting with my family. We had a great hoops season. Not just good but great! After one of our worst football seasons in the last 10 years, it was important to follow it up with a profitable hoops season and boy did we. We more than made up for football and completed a great gambling year. I always feel bad for those that only bet one sport but try and always offer them a great deal on upcoming seasons if they quit after a below average run. One of the things I have been doing while on hiatus is watching some world cup. I want to like this sport. I see how passionate some of the countries are about their soccer and I want to understand their hysteria. After watching about 4 games ( 3 of which ended in ties) I can honestly say the world cup is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen! First of all, the ties! Who the hell is ok with a tie!!??!?!? These fans get all riled up, blowing their stupid hornes and cheering their team to a 0-0 barnburner and then they go home!? That makes no sense ! How can someone paint their face, call in sick for work and pay money to go to a game knowing their is a very good chance that nobody is going to win! What do you tell your wife when she says " so honey, how was the game you spent 300.00 to go to and another 50.00 in body paint. Who won?". Do you tuen to her and simply say...... Tie. ? If your team ties, is that good or bad for you!? I know the scoring in pool play , blah blah... But you as a face painting soccer idiot, are you happy with a tie ? Ridiculous! Second, the flopping!! I have never seen such a poor use of a stretcher! It really makes a mockery of everyone that has ever really been injured enough to actually need a stretcher! Some guy falls down after being blown on by an opponent then out come the medics ! I thought I was watching some bad video game. Then the red card comes out ! For what!!! He didn't even touch the guy. I think it woulkd be funny to start using the same strecther standards for the nfl. Can you imagine? Someone gets tackled after a 2 yard game and out comes the stretcher! It would take 8 hours to play a game. Anyway, as I was saying, I am really looking forward to a great football season and am heading to the wsop on Friday so a busy June continues. Btw, my wife is in the finals for a Paula dean / Kraft cooking contest. The winner gets a 25k talent contract and lots of cream cheese!! So wish her luck. Have a great summer and get signed up to save money on the fall packages.

Vegas day 1and 2

After getting in around 8pm and checking in at the belliago I went to get something to eat. The line at the buffet was around the corner but I know a little trick to not have to wait. All you do is walk in thru the exit, bypassing the line and head to the bar. Few people know that at the bellaigo , the bar can seat and take money independently from the restaurant. As long as they have a Seat , you don't wait.
After eating I headed over to the poker room. With the 25k wpt event going on, it was busy. I tried to get in a couple of good games (50-100 plo and a 200-400 mixed game but they were full. I was 2nd on the list for a 25-50 game that had this guy I have played with before. He is about 30 and a good looking kid. Not sure what he does but he has a lot of money. I won about 20k off him the only time we played. He lost it while debating with orel hershier who was a better high school baseball player , him or orel. Yes you read that right. Last night he lost about 80k but I couldn't get in the game. After about 2 hours of 10-20 nlh I went to bed up 600.00. Woohoo!!
This morning I started in the spa with a steem. Then to play a little before I head to the venetian for a 500.00 deep stack tournament. Actually I didn't play many hands during the 2 hours I played but I left the table a 8k winner. The big hand was

I had 10 c -8 c.
There was a preflop raise of 200.00 and 4 callers.

The flop came 8-10-4

Seat 1 bets seat 3 moves all in for 3k. I call and seat 1 calls!

Even with 2 pair I know I am not a big favorite because at least 1 guy has an over pair and no telling what the other has.

Sure enough, seat one has a-a and seat 3 turns over j-9 for an opened end staright.

The river is a 7 and the 3 seat cheers. But after the river is an 8 , I won the pot.

I am now down at the venetian working on my tournament play. I haven't been doing that well in tournaments and with the world series coming up I need to get better !

3 plays tonight in the nba playoffs and we are really hot. Get signed up today and have a good week.

Should I stay or should I go....

I am sitting on a plane on my way to Vegas. Now, that seems pretty harmless but for me, this time of year, at this point in my life it is a real struggle. Here's what I mean. I am going to Vegas for a meeting that I really don't have to do now, it is just important I do it before I go to Florida for the summer, in June. There is also a couple of poker tournaments going on this week and I can play in those also. I have very little going on the next few days in Oklahoma so in theory it seems like an easy decision. Well, it would be for someone that isn't codependant. I use to have no troube flying off for a couple of days when the kids were younger but now that they are a bit older, I have become a lunatic! I have a really tough time going on trips that are not "essential". Now when I start the process of deciding rather to go or not, I am pretty sane. I start with the pros and cons. On this trip that list looked something like this..

Pros- I get to go to Vegas.
- I get to eat really nice dinners and get my meeting out of the way.
- I get to play (and possibly win money ) during the week.

Cons to going- my kids and wife will miss me.
- I will miss jacks baseball practice
... And .... Well that's about all. I will be back by Thursday and I can obviously handicap nba from Vegas just like at home.

Seems like an easy decision so I book the trip.

Then.. The 2 hours before the flight is getting ready to leave it begins . My list and my confidence in leaving starts to shift. I start making the new list and it looks something like this..

Cons to leaving- what if one of the kids falls and breaks something.
- what if the house burns down.
- what if I get to Vegas and get food poisioning?
- what if something gets bombed and I can't get home?

Pros to going- I weigh 300 pounds and the last thing I need is a good meal!!

You get the idea. Of course most of this battle is unrealistic and in my head so when I get this strange look on my face as my flight time approaches, my wife starts asking questions.

" ah jack, are you aware your flight leaves in an hour?"
" honey, are you still going to Vegas?"
" jack, the house isn't going to burn down! You might want to get in the car"

All valid points. Over the last 2 years when I have a trip like this scheduled , I actually get on the plane 40 percent of the time. As I said in the beginning , I am on the plane and heading west so this was an upset. I hope everything goes ok. God please don't give me food poisioning.

We are absoultly killing the books in hoops. We have won 5 out of every 6 weeks, we are on a 24-7 run and were 2-0 yesterday!! Things are great and the hoops clients are very happy. You can get the rest of the nba season for only 399.00 ! Have a good week, I will check in later.

Daddy trip 2010

Well, it has been a really fast year! It seems like just yesterday I was taking caytie to tampa for last springs daddy trip. For those of you that are new to my blog, daddy trip is a 2 or 3 day event where I take 1 of my kids somewhere. It really doesn't seem to matter where we go because they each will tell you it is their favorite week of the year because it is all about them. When I take caytie, like I am now, I will spend my day telling her how wonderful she is and doing whatever she wants. We eat and drink whatever she can think of and we swim in the hotel pool even if it is after midnight. We have a great time because we are forced to talk to each other and we both can agree on at least one thing , that she is fabulous!

This years trip is actually starting out pretty funny. I never tell the kids where we are going and try to keep it a secret as long as possible. With my 10 year old, that normally is the second we hit the gate at the airport if not before. He can read and is well traveled so he knows where to look at the airport. This trip is starting different. I slipped once and told caytie ( she's 8) that we would get into florida around 6pm. I quickly covered that up and she was back to guessing. You might find this hard to believe but we are currently somewhere over alabama and she still doesn't know where we are going. Every time the flight attendant was about to say where we were going,I would ask caytie a question. She thought she heard california but realized that was wrong. Soon I am going to become concerned with her problem solving skills. She could always ask someone else on the plane. Everyone would tell her, except me.

We are going to orlando for 2 days. we are staying at the animal kingdom place. Beyond that I have no idea what we are going to do. Whatever my baby wants ,my baby gets. At least for 48 hours a year.

We won again last week in hoops !!! 12-4 then 11-5 the last 2 weeks. You 100.00 players, ask yourself how much you would be up with a 23-9 record over the last 2 weeks. We are making money and having a great hoops season.
If your betting on the games, get signed up today. Its a huge month.

Btw, we are on midwestern airlines new direct flight to orlando. Big new planes,on time and only 2 hours gate to gate and the tickets were cheap!!! I think they also go direct to tampa bay. I highly recommend them.

Little league update

I am sitting here watching my 8 year old daughters basketball practice and waiting on the games to get started tonight and it dawned on me that we just completed my sons basketball season and I did not submit one single blog entry about the season. Not one. Could it be that the only time I feel the need to talk on the blog about little league sports is when I have something to complain about? Surely I am not one of those guys that sits quietly when things are going well and the first sign of an issue I run to my computer to vent to the readers. It is true that negative news is often the most interesting but I am going to do my best to write about the positive season just as much as when I am bitching.

The 5th grade hoops season was awesome! I could not have been happier. The boys are so much better at the fundamentals then they were at the start of the season. Unlike last season, they learned plays, they passed the ball and this same group of kids that 13 months ago couldn't throw it in the ocean actually scored some points. They lost in the finals of their league to a team of 6th graders that apparently couldn't compete with any of the 6th grade teams so they came down with the 5th graders to play(another story). The drastic change in this basketball season vs. last season was our 5th grade coach. He is the father of one of the kids and over the last 2 years has become much more involved in his kids lives. When I first met him he was a dad that was coming to more and more of the games so I asked who he was. Then after a couple of seasons he started being our score keeper on the baseball team. During football season when we started talking about who was going to coach hoops he immediately threw his hat in the ring. Since most of the other dads weren't excited about taking on our group of "monkeys" for another hoops season, dennis got the job. It was the best thing to happen to this group of boys! He was great. Not only does he know a lot about basketball, he had a new and fresh approach to the game. The boys thrived under his leadership. I think he also moved a little more from a parent trying to get more involved in his kids lives to a leader of his children and someone that all of our boys could look to as a positive male roll model. In some ways it was the best season yet and had nothing to do with winning and losing but much more to do with the qualities and benefits that little league sports were meant to have.

Thanks dennis!!! You are the man!!!

Thoughts on the olympics

The olympics are over and daytime television is back to its normal routine. I for one loved the olympics. This is the first time I can remember looking forward to each days events. Here are my top 3 favorite events.

3. Ski/snow board cross- this is where the athletes start at the top of what looks a hot wheels track and race down. I am sure this sport was invented by a 14 year old and is exactly what little boys around the world do on just about anything that moves fast. From skis and snow boards to skate boards, bikes and roller skates 14 year olds have been racing for years and it is nice to see it is finally paying off in the olympics.

2. Short track speed skating- this event is for anyone that was ever undersized,a little weak or just was able to weasel their way into tight spaces growing up. Remember that kid that always found a way to cut in line when it was time to go in after recess? That kid would be great at this sport. It is a little about speed skating but is more about finding a weakness in your opponents skating style. If your kid keeps getting in trouble for cutting in school, you might want to get him a pair of speed skates.

1. 4 man bobsled- this is an event that before this year,I didn't care about and frankly looked like a sled competition that was not much fun to watch. But after watching this years things changed. The usa won the gold metal and the driver looked like half the guys I play poker with! The only difference is he was wearing a unitard. This guy looked about 5'5, 40 years old,hat a pot belly ,was bald and looked like he was suited for a wing eating contest! His team mates would rub his hear after each run. I think he comes from a long line of sleaders but I am pretty sure my body type would work in that sport. I am also positive they went to the pub for burgers and beers to celebrate the gold.
My kind of sport.

Sorry the olympics are over and am excited about the summer games in 2012. Maybe they will offer wing eating. That seems like a summer sport.

12-4 last week in hoops. We are really on a roll and ready for a big march!! Get signed up if your betting on hoops.

Btw, happy 40th birthday to keith stitt.as a lot of my friends turn 40 it is interesting to look at each of our experiences. Keith has lived a lot for a 40 year old man and is a great friend.

On a plane to florida and it finally happened....

Well, I am currently somewhere between oklahoma city and atlanta on my way to florida and it finally happened. We are on one of the smaller planes that only has 2 seats on each side of the isle. I am in 2a and as I walked on the plane, turned the corner, I saw it.... The guy sitting next to me makes me look like I am richard simmons. He is 6'4 and at least 400 lbs!!!!he has the seat belt extension and is squeezed into the seat next to me like a sardine! As I approach my seat I start laughing and say" who in the hell did we piss off at reservations!?!? He doesn't respond and goes back to eating his subway. I then say, " I'm not sure you understand, this seat, where your left belly flab is currently residing is my seat. You are going to need to wrap up your subway and let's see if we can do the impossible."
The flight attendant came over and everyone watch to see if I could pull a david blaine meets circus ole and squeeze into my seat. After a pretty seamless entry into the seat, only having to move his breast once and some folds of his side pouches , I was in.

Then to find the belt!!!!

It was like excavating king tuts tomb. I dove down under the layers of his belly and found the belt, sucked in my own issues and fastened the belt.

We are in!!!!

No conversation, I am sitting at a 45 degree angle into the isle and counting the minutes till this plane lands.
Wish me luck on the dismount and I will check back later.

EVERYONE IS THINKING IT AND IM SAYING IT...THE WINTER OLYMPICS HAVE REALLY GOTTEN "GAY"

Now before I get into my thoughts of the winter Olympics, let me say this so I can get it out of the way, and every time some of you might get offended, please look back to this sentence...

I love Gays! They don't bother me at all. Although it isn't for me, I can respect a man that says, I love other men no matter how much it grosses some people out.  Its all fine with me..

BUT

The winter Olympics have really gotten gay!  Now most of you are thinking I must be referring to the Men's figure skating. Absolutely, from top to bottom, the skating is unbelievable!  I honestly feel like I am watching a  Will Ferrell movie every time its on. From the preview with the music " show down" where they have tall lanky men doing their best to dress like a peacock and behave like a human butterfly to their version of smack talking that you are more likely to hear in a beauty salon than a sporting event. Even the "expert" they keep getting quotes from. This guy seems pretty straight and look like a mans man. He is the last man to win back to back gold metals in men's skating and when he talks you feel like he is getting the sport a little more to the middle until they tell you his name....DICK BUTTON!! Now, there is nothing gay about the name Dick Button unless you are watching Dick Button break down the "peacock triple" that is being performed by the 'bad boy of American figure skating, the human butterfly...."   You get the idea.

With all of that being said, the skating isnt what bothers me the most. Did you catch the 2 man luge!!!  Now this is unbelievably gay!  Not one but two men, in tights, on a flexible flyer, laying on top of each other sliding down a hill.     Seriously?    Was it really necessary to have two men on the sled? Is there any more skill in having one man grind and bounce on another man going down a hill than there is in just having one man?  I haven't seen anything gayer than  the prestart of that event since I saw broke back mountain! They grab on to the start poles and swing back and forth three or four times until I guess the feeling is right, then they push off and lay back on each other!!!  Sounds more like a porno you might find in a hotel than an Olympic sport.

Again, I am not against homosexuals. It really doesnt bother me that much, I am one of those that believes it is not a chosen thing and you are either born that way or not so I dont really have an issue with it but I will say, I am ready for more skiing etc and less of what they have given us this week.

We are winning again with the selections. 11 of the last 13 weeks in hoops and winning again this week!!!!! Making a lot of money, if you are thinking about playing the games, please get signed up and join us. Heading to Vegas tomorrow for the WPT at the Venetian, I will check in from there.

Going back to cali then to vegas

I am on a flight with my wife heading for california. We take this trip every year before the super bowl. Just the 2 of us and it is always fun. We actually don't do much, some walking on the beach, eating a lot, my wife looks for movie stars etc. in the beginning,it was her idea to go. She calls it a "lovers trip". I think we have lovers trips all the time but this one is special to her. I think it was originally a yearly chance for her to decide if she still loved me and she decided rather she was going to put up with my hijinks for another year. Now, after 16 years of marriage,I think it is just a chance for her to get away from being a mom for a few days. I don't have to pass the test anymore. She drank the cool-aid. We may go whale watching tuesday so that should be fun.

Then to vegas. The football season was o.k. I have had lots of great seasons over the last 10 years. I have had a couple of bad ones but this one was just ok. A small profit for the season clients. The problem is that when we are that close to even, there are going to be lots of different opinions on exactly how the season actually was. Here is what I mean.

Let's say player 1 played all of my selections and went 100-100. He is going to say he didn't lose money ,except juice, and isn't very happy but understands it could have been worse and will hope for much better next year.

Player 2 played the exact selections but on 10 different games that the line was -2.5 he got the game at -3.5. Then those games ended our team 17,the other team 14. He loses those 10 games! Not good for him because instead of being 100-100 ,he is (with only 10 games different) 90-110!! He loses 20 units on the season and is mad.

Now some will have the lines work for them and they will win 20 games more but fact will be ,some are very happy. Most are o.k. And some lost.

we did better than the 100-100 example but you get the idea. Now on a season where we go 150-75, everyone is happy. Some more than others but not too many angry clients.

Thankfully, we are making money almost every week this season in hoops so the ones that are betting hoops are all very happy.

Have a good week, I will check in from cali then vegas.

I'm back and gonna do better!!!!..... Promise.

I know it has been a while but I have an excuse. You know, even as I was writing that, I knew there were going to be very few things I could say that would justify not checking in at least once per month. Especially when the last entry I promised I would do better. Truth is, I have just been really busy raising kids and picking winners( mostly in basketball). The kids are both knee deep in hoops right now and as jacksons 5th grade year of basketball comes to an end I am beginning to think he may not have many more seasons on the hardwood. Don't get me wrong, he is probably the best or second best on his team but the problem is, I know of 2 or 3 other 5th grade teams that he would have trouble starting for. That's a nice way of saying jack and his friends are "challenged" in basketball. See how much I've grown! A couple of years ago I would have said that jackson and his friends would have trouble throwing the ball into the ocean (if that's how you scored) and they have more turnovers than dunkin doughnuts. But I didn't, or did I ? Oh well, most of his friends are very good kids and honestly, unless god blesses you and your 6'3 or more. Your basketball career most likely ends somewhere between 5th and 12th grade. Fine with me.

Caytie is just beginning her journey to the wnba. She is 7 and like everything else in her life , she is aggressive. She attacks the ball and anyone who has it. So far it hasn't mattered if they were on her team or not, attack means attack. We are working on that.

Just got back from vegas. I went to meet a friend and had 2 meetings. We had a really good time and had some great meals. "Strip steak" in mandalay bay was really good. Pricey but good. My buddie got the bill comp ted so price didn't matter as much but if your buyin, I have some better values. The golden steer is one. By Sahara but good. Heading back for the super bowl for what should be a great weekend. Follow me on twitter for the super bowl winners and hoops winners this spring.

We have turned a profit in hoops 11 of the last 12 weeks!!!!! This goes back to november. If you are betting on basketball and want to win money, don't wait another day. Sign up today for less than 2.00 per selection. Yes really. No tricks.
